The Deputy Minister of Finance, Mikheil Dundua, expects foreign investment of $2 billion in Georgia this year. As he stated with BM.GE, the investment attitude towards Georgia is "unequivocally positive" and this is supported by the facts.
"The fact is that this year we reached a historical maximum of foreign investments. The rate of both investments and reinvestments has increased. The confidence of foreign investors in Georgia is at the highest level, in this regard, Georgia is one of the most outstanding among the other countries.
In the first quarter of 2022, the maximum amount of historical data of foreign investment of 568 million dollars was recorded in Georgia," - Dundua said, adding that the number of foreign direct investments entering the country in 2022 is an indicator that foreign investors show more and more trust and goodwill towards Georgia, which significantly improves the investment environment.
"As a rule, the investment rate in the first quarter is lower than the average rate of subsequent quarters. In subsequent quarters, the average rate will be higher than $500 million. Therefore, it is expected that Georgia will receive a flow of foreign investments of $2 billion this year." - the Deputy Minister of Finance, Mikheil Dundua, said.
To be informed, in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, 436 million dollars more foreign investment was made in the country.
