Farmers are strengthening the market control mechanism and are asking to discover the activities existing in the so-called black market.

"It is not possible to prepare dairy products outside the enterprise. Farmer are not banned from producing and selling small quantities of products. Entrepreneurs, who follow the regulations, are associated with costs, and prohibited activities are not controlled," - Anna Wiederhold, founder of "Miliano", said. 

Another major challenge in the dairy sector is education and low productivity. Businesses are asking the government to subsidize the dairy sector in order to create breeding farms and increase productivity in the country. 

"Breeding farms should be set up where the state will work on highly productive goods and distribute these goods, either through redemption or at a 50-50 grant. All normal states have done so," - said Ana Mikadze, chairwoman of the Georgian Cheese Makers' Association, stated.
