The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Ilia Darchiashvili started his visit to the Czech Republic with meeting with the Minister of European Affairs Mikulas Bek.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the main topic of the conversation concerned the forthcoming Czech Presidency of Council of the EU, Georgia's application for the EU membership and the ongoing procedures for the country completing the relevant questionnaire.
Mikulas Bek reiterated the unwavering support of the Czech Republic for Georgia's integration goals and the European Union enlargement policy.
The meeting also underlined Georgia's "successful steps” in implementing reforms under the EU integration process, as an “important basis for further success in the process.”
The sides also focused on Russia's aggression in Ukraine and support from their Governments to the country, in addition to the matter of security environment in the Black Sea region.
The top Georgian diplomat thanked the Czech Government for its “practical support” to Georgia in the European integration process in various sectors.
During his visit to the Czech Republic, Darchiashvili will also meet his counterpart, and the Speaker of the Parliament.
