In Washington, within the framework of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, met with the heads of Clearstream, the central depository of international securities - Jan Willems and Christian Rossler.
At the meeting, the conversation touched on the cooperation of the National Bank of Georgia and Clearstream both in the field of foreign exchange reserves management, as well as in increasing the accessibility of the Georgian securities market for international investors.
The positive role that Clearstream plays in facilitating access to the Georgian market for international investment funds was noted.
On her part, Natia Turnava highlighted the strategic partnership with Clearstream, which is one of the major players in the European financial market infrastructure and is also active on a global scale.
As Turnava said, the cooperation with Clearstream was an important factor in the integration of the financial sector of Georgia with global markets and would contribute to the formation of the financial hub of the Georgian region.
The parties expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation in terms of reducing the risk of investing funds for foreign investors and facilitating the investment process by using new financial instruments.
