Reportedly, 90% of the construction works on the Georgian section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway have been completed and 756 million dollars have been used from the allocated credit line of Azerbaijan.

The project is planned to be completed in 2024, after which the Marabda-Kartsakhi Railway section will be put into operation.

,,Before the completion of the construction works and the commissioning of the section, a Georgian-Azerbaijani joint venture will be established, as stipulated in the international bilateral agreement concluded between our countries. Regarding the mentioned issue, appropriate legal procedures have been initiated between the two countries," the document states, noting that the Marabda-Kartsakhi Railway line will be able to carry 5 million tons of cargo per year.
