Javier Colomina, the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, on Friday congratulated Georgia with being granted the perspective of accession to the European Union.
"The #EUCO decided to recognize the European perspective of Georgia and is ready to grant candidate status once the outstanding priorities are addressed.
Congratulations to the Georgian people.
A historic moment in EU-Georgia relations: Georgia's future lies within the EU," - the NATO official sent congratulations to Georgia.
To be reminded, the European Council on Thursday granted the European Union membership candidate status to Ukraine and Moldova, and granted Georgia a “European perspective” before assessing how the country meets a number of conditions for receiving the membership candidate status.
