The Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia allowed Russian airlines Azimuth and Red Wings to increase the frequency of flights to Georgia. According to the new applications submitted to the Civil Aviation Agency, Azimuth plans to perform multiple charter flights from Mineralnye Vody to Tbilisi and vice versa, as well as from Sochi to Tbilisi, from Sochi to Moscow and from Batumi to Moscow; Red Wings will perform the Zhukovsky-Tbilisi-Zhukovsky and Moscow-Kutaisi-Moscow routes. Neither Azimuth nor Red Wings are included in the blacklist of the European Union.
“Flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation are and will be performed in the future only by airlines that are not included in the EU blacklist. Flights will also not be performed by planes for which aircraft manufacturers have discontinued technical support; that means limiting access to technical and flight documentation, as well as the provision of spare parts. The Civil Aviation Agency will act in accordance with the above-mentioned decision in relation to each submitted application in the future," - the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia said.
