Changing official name of Georgia under consideration in Latvia

"On February 21, the deputies, together with the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the State Language Center, are scheduled to review the issue of changing Georgia's Russian name "Gruzia" into "Sakartvelo," at the session of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs of Latvia," - the Latvian media reports.
Previously, Latvia stated that the issue of renaming Georgia and using an alternative name has not been discussed yet.
Besides, Georgia is already called "Sakartvelo" (Sakartvelas in Lithuanian) in Lithuania. Japan and South Korea have already started using "Sakartvelo" officially.
