
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, together with the priests and clergy, hosted the President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Francesco Rocca, the President of the Georgian Red Cross Society, Natia Loladze and their accompanying persons.
According to the public relations service of the Patriarchate of Georgia, the meeting focused on the current situation globally and the ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as the role of the Red Cross for the world and Georgia.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia thanked the President of the organization for his outstanding support and wished him success, adding that the Georgian side had not been allowed to enter the occupied territories for decades and that the Red Cross could do many good deeds there.
Francesco Rocca said that “the ongoing war in Ukraine is the biggest challenge for the whole world and the International Red Cross will do everything possible to help the affected population in Ukraine and other countries”.
The 11th European Red Cross Conference was held in Georgia this year. The topics of the conference are: Covid-19, migration, climate change, humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and action plans.
