The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families and relatives of those who lost their lives in the tragic fire in the village of Saberio, situated in the Gali district of Russian-occupied Abkhazia.
"We extend our deepest sympathies for the tragedy that has befallen your family in the village of Saberio—a sorrow that has deeply affected the entire nation of Georgia.
Saying farewell to five children at once is an unfathomable and overwhelming grief. Yet, we must find strength in the belief that death is not an end but the beginning of eternal life, for which we all must prepare. Though this separation is excruciating, it is only temporary.
We offer our prayers for the immortal souls of Emilia, Anna-Maria, Elena, Nia, and Sofia, and beseech the Lord to provide you with solace and the strength to endure this profound pain with faith," stated the Patriarch.
The fire, which occurred in Saberio, claimed the lives of five children, marking a devastating loss for the community in the Gali region of Russian-occupied Abkhazia.
