
As the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia reported, the ports handled 4 million tons of cargo in January-April. The annual turnover growth included 0.5 million tons. Cargo turnover has increased in both Poti and Batumi Ports. In total, 31.2% of the cargo turnover in the Georgian corridor is distributed to these ports.
Cargo turnover in the Georgian ports/4 months of 2022:
• Poti Port - 2.4 million tons, annual growth of 0.2 million tons
• Batumi Port - 1.6 million tons, annual growth of 0.3 million tons
It should be noted that the container load rate has also increased, in total, by 6.5% compared to the last year.
Recycled containers by ports/4 months of 2022:
• Poti Port - 102 890 TEU (+ 4935 TEU)
• Batumi Port - 33 745 TEU (+ 3434 TEU)
• In total - 136 635 TEU (+ 8370 TEU)
