
In July 2023, the annual inflation rate in Georgia was only 0.3 percent, which is the lowest rate of inflation in the last 7 years. In such large consumer groups as food prices, instead of increasing compared to the previous year, they decreased by 0.2 percent.
The National Statistics Office of Georgia calculates inflation as a result of a monthly survey of the prices of 305 consumer goods and services.
The list of food products that increased in price the most in July 2023 compared to the same period last year is as follows:
Cabbage - annual price increase of 65%;
Pears - annual price increase of 44%;
Pepper - annual price increase of 39%;
Cucumber - annual price increase of 29%;
Tomato paste - annual price increase of 27.7%;
Corn flour - annual price increase of 23.8%;
Herbs - annual price increase of 22.7%;
Washing soap - annual price increase of 22%;
Kiwi - annual price increase of 21%.
