With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the organization of the agency's contractor company, Swirl Wine Group, a group of 12 wine professionals visited Georgia.

The members of the group consisting of British importers, retailers, baristas and sommeliers visited the Georgian wine producing companies in Kakheti, where they tasted different styles of Georgian wine. At a special tasting held in Tbilisi, the British guests got to know the wines of 20 different companies.

Great Britain is one of the largest importers and consumers of wine in Europe, which since 2014 has been identified as one of the potentially growing strategic markets for the Georgian wine exports. In order to establish itself in the UK market, the National Wine Agency has been cooperating with Master of Wine Sarah Abbott's company Swirl Wine Group LTD since 2015. In January-May 2024, 142 thousand liters of wine were exported to Britain; The increase in the export volume, compared to the same period of 2023, amounted to 12%.
