The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili stressed on Wednesday that the border and customs control in Georgia are “at the highest level.”
The Minister pledged the government to be open “to any interested country to see for themselves how the system works and be assured that all allegations are baseless”.
The comments came after the allegations of Ukrainian authorities on Russia smuggling sanctioned products via Georgian territory.
“I think our strategic friends, brothers, should be more attentive and respectful. They should present facts when make statement. Not only the Georgian society, but also the international community will wait for concrete evidence. These allegations are an insult to the Georgian state and Georgians,” - Davitashvili declared.
