Board of Experts has greenlit COVID-19 booster shots for those aged 16 and over, Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia announced on Monday following the meeting of the Coordination Council on Coronavirus.
Until then, over-50s and risk-group people were eligible for booster shots.
Citizens can only book their booster jabs six months after their second dose.
Deputy Minister also echoed the green passports, entering into force on December 1, saying it should be strictly monitored.
The country’s immune layer reached 54%, comprising of those who recovered from coronavirus or got jabbed, added Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). “This number should rise to at least 80% to be more relaxed.”
