“The National Tourism Administration of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia has hosted well-known bloggers, journalists and wine experts from Belgium,” - the National Tourism Administration of Georgia reports.
According to the National Tourism Administration, a group of 17 people from Belgium visited Georgia within the wine tour.
"Currently, the National Tourism Administration is hosting wine bloggers from Belgium, and articles on the potential of Georgian wine will be published in both print and online media. This is another additional opportunity for us to position this tourism product correctly and increase both the target market area and the number of visitors,” - Medea Janiashvili, the Acting Head of the National Tourism Administration.
The Belgian bloggers, journalists and sommeliers visited the Tbilisi Wine Museum, Mtskheta, Kakheti, where they viewed the cellars of Shalauri, Ruispiri and Alaverdi. The participants of the wine tour left for Samtskhe-Javakheti, where they visited Akhaltsikhe, Chobareti, Vardzia, Ude, Borjomi, Tashiskari, and the village of Ateni in Shida Kartli.
The Belgian media representatives and wine experts in the regions got acquainted with the rules of preparation of local wines and dishes.
After the tour, the Belgian journalists and bloggers will post photo and video blogs about the Georgian wine and dishes on social media, while the Belgian and Dutch magazines will publish articles in Vino Magazine- De Morgen, PERSWIJN, De Standaard Knack Weekend, detailing the Georgian gastronomic tourism products, which will help raise the awareness of Georgia in Belgium and the Netherlands and increase tourist flows to the country.
