,,Beer in Georgia is cheaper compared to the other countries in the region," - the Galt and Taggart research says.
As the research reads, the beer consumption rate in Georgia increased by 5.1% annually on average in 2016-2023. Consumption rate will reach 133 million liters in 2023.
As noted in the Galt & Taggart study, 92% of beer consumption is satisfied by local production, while the rest is imported, mainly from Germany, Russia and Belgium.
"The average prices of beer are increasing due to the rise in the cost of materials. In 2021-2023, the price of beer is increasing, which is connected with the rise in cost along with the increase in demand.
On average, 85% of the cost of beer produced in Georgia is related to the imported products. Accordingly, the dynamics of the global prices of these materials significantly affects the profitability of the Georgian companies.
However, despite this, the research notes that beer in Georgia is cheaper compared to the other countries in the region.
The beer price in the Georgian supermarkets is cheaper compared to Azerbaijan and Armenia, and more expensive compared to Kazakhstan.
The beer price in the Georgian pubs is the cheapest compared to the countries of the region," - the study says.
