"Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT), which has been operating in Batumi since 2008, despite being busy, continues to make significant investments and implement programs to ensure high-standard service delivery.
Throughout the period of the pandemic and also in the difficult market conditions that followed, while other terminals in the region were significantly overloaded, the Batumi International Container Terminal maintained high standards of service.
Thanks to the additional investments made by the Batumi International Container Terminal, the terminal is ready to handle the increased cargo flow. The operational area of the terminal has been increased by additional 6 hectares, including the outer terminal with its two railway tracks. This allows the terminal to process and handle not only the recently increased cargo volumes transported by both road and rail modes of transport, but also to provide more container unloading/loading associated with the increased cargo turnover and trade in the Middle Corridor.
The Batumi International Container Terminal has also successfully implemented a modern operating system for container area planning, which will further increase the efficiency of terminal operations. In addition, the terminal has purchased additional units of brand new, heavy-duty terminal equipment in order to improve the quality of operations, provide faster and more efficient service to its customers. Thanks to the aforementioned capacity increase, which includes additional storage areas, special equipment and more personnel, the Batumi International Container Terminal provides faster cargo handling and service,” – the Batumi International Container Terminal (BICT) stated.
The Batumi International Container Terminal continues to invest further in order to simplify, accelerate, increase efficiency and maintain a high level of service quality.
The Batumi International Container Terminal is a subsidiary of ICTS Inc., the largest independent terminal operator on six continents.
