Batumi International Airport has reached a historic milestone, welcoming its millionth passenger of 2025, according to TAV Georgia, the company that manages the airport.
The milestone passenger, German tourist Michal Natovich, was traveling with her children and received a symbolic send-off ceremony.
TAV Georgia expects total passenger numbers to reach 1.2 million by the end of the year, setting a new record.
Passenger traffic in 2025 has grown by 32% compared to last year, and by 90% compared to pre-pandemic levels. August 2025 was the airport’s busiest month ever, with over 213,000 travelers, including 9,000 in a single day on August 24.
To meet rising demand, TAV Georgia is expanding infrastructure, including runway rehabilitation, more aircraft stands, and upgrades to passenger areas and passport control.
