Imports of bananas into Georgia are increasing. As the National Statistics Office of Georgia reported, in January-October 2022, the country purchased 31,415 tons (23,693 million USD) of products, in the same period of the previous year - 22,919 tons (15,020 million USD), and in 10 months of 2020 - 21,979 tons (14,600 million USD).
The list of the TOP-5 countries where Georgia has bought bananas this year is as follows:
1.Ecuador - 29,353 tons ($ 22,204 million)
2.Turkey - 1,247 tons ($ 891.4 thousand)
3. Costa Rica - 691.1 tons ($ 494.7 thousand)
4. The United Arab Emirates - 118.7 tons ($ 86.5 thousand)
5. The Netherlands - 2.4 tons ($ 7.8 thousand)
In addition, this year, small quantities of products were also imported into Georgia from the following countries: Greece, Armenia, France, Poland, Germany and Nigeria.
