
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized the strategic importance of relations with Georgia, citing their historical ties and mutual efforts in transforming the South Caucasus into a region of strategic significance. Speaking at the 7th ADA University Policy Forum, he highlighted the deep partnership between the two nations, shaped by shared history and mutual understanding.
"Relations with Georgia are of strategic importance due to our historical connections and high level of partnership since our independence," Aliyev stated. He also noted that Georgia and Azerbaijan play a key role in connecting the Caspian and Black Seas, serving as gateways between continents.
Aliyev pointed to recent developments, including the Prime Minister of Georgia’s visit to Azerbaijan, marking a symbolic post-election gesture. He also mentioned an upcoming visit from Georgia’s President, further strengthening the bond between the countries.
The President concluded by discussing joint projects, particularly the Middle Corridor and Green Corridor, which are essential not only for both nations but for a broader regional and global context.
