Year by year, avocado is becoming an increasingly popular product in Georgia.
Back to 2014, the country imported 40 tons of products, and in 2022 this volume increased to 830 tons, while the annual value of imports exceeded $1 million for the first time.
As for the data of the 1st 5 months of the current year, 670 tons of avocados worth 1,238,270 USD were imported into Georgia. In annual terms, the indicator has increased twice or by 118%. Particularly, in January-May 2022, products worth $567,000 entered the country.
According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), Georgia's top trading partners by avocado imports are the following:
The Netherlands - 1,097,930 USD;
Turkey - 122,340 USD;
Kenya - 18 thousand USD.
