
Avocado imports are at an all-time high. According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in 2023, 1,700 tons (2,557 million USD) of products were imported into the country, which exceeds the annual figure published on the external trade portal.
According to GEOSTAT, avocado imports in 2022 amounted to 998.6 tons (1,587 million USD), in 2021 - 420.3 tons (1,170 million USD), in 2020 - 310 tons (838.1 million USD), etc.
In 2009, only 3.89 tons (10.9 thousand USD) of avocados were imported into Georgia.
As for the price, this year Georgian avocados have become cheaper by 9 tetris on average. In particular, according to statistics, in 2023, 1 kg of product cost an average of 1.50 USD, and in 2022, 1.59 USD.
Last year, the largest amount of avocados was imported from Turkey, which accounted for 54.6% of total imports, followed by the Netherlands with 42.9%.

Turkey - 928.5 tons (309.9 thousand USD)
The Netherlands - 728.8 tons (2,212 million USD)
Kenya - 43.4 tons (33.6 thousand USD)
France - 0.07 tons (1,200 USD)
As for exports, in 2023, 398 tons (1,181 million USD) of avocados were exported from Georgia, which also significantly exceeds the indicators of previous years. In 2022, 267.3 tons (765.8 thousand USD) were exported, in 2021 - 103.4 tons (385 thousand USD), etc.
Based on the National Statistics Office, it turns out that in 2023, Georgia sold 1 kg of avocado for 2.9-3 US dollars on average, and in 2022 for 2.87 US dollars.
