Auction to be announced for construction of largest thermal power plant in Georgia

At the government session held today, the members of the Georgian government approved the decree regarding the measures to be taken to ensure the construction of the third thermal power plant of the combined cycle in Gardabani municipality.
Based on the decree, an auction will be announced for the construction of a new 350-430 MW combined-cycle, energy-efficient thermal power plant in the territory of Gardabani municipality; an investor will be selected, who must build and put into operation the largest thermal plant in Georgia within four years.
