
“A memorandum signed between the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Georgian Rugby Union provides for the joint promotion of Georgian wine and Georgian rugby within the framework of the 2023 World Cup,” - the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reported.
"The Georgian wine presentation event held in the city of Bordeaux, in the world center of wine civilization "Cité du Vin", under the direct organization of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and with the support of the Embassy of Georgia in the Republic of France, included two parts: a professional tasting of Georgian wine, which was attended by 80 invited guests. The tasting was led by the sommelier of the World Center of Wine Civilization, who presented the guests with Georgian wines preserved in the Bordeaux Museum and organized a gala dinner for the guests, among whom were the representatives of the World Rugby, the French Rugby Federation, the Fiji Rugby Union, the Georgian Rugby Union, the Embassy and Consulate of Georgia in the Republic of France, as well as Georgian veteran rugby players, who played in French clubs at different times.
Tengiz Nasaridze, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Davit Tkemaladze, the Deputy Chairman of the National Wine Agency of Georgia attended the event held in Bordeaux. The World Rugby President Bill Beaumont attended the gala dinner.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of France Gocha Javakhishvili presided over the gala dinner held in Bordeaux.
Under the memorandum signed between the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Georgian Rugby Union, after the end of the Rugby World Cup, the events of a similar format will become part of all the major international tournaments, which the Georgian Rugby Supporters will participate in.
