As of January-February 2022, the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 2 542.1 million, 49.3% higher to the same period of 2021," - the National Statistics Office of Georgia stated.
"The exports equaled USD 760.4 million (54.5% higher), while the imports stood at USD 1 781.7 million (47.2% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 1 021.3 million in January-February 2022 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 40.2%.
The share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 78.0%. The top partners were China (USD 95.4 million), Russia (USD 92.9 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 92.3 million).
The share of the top ten trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 64.0%. The top partners were Turkey (USD 295.5 million), Russia (USD 181.8 million) and Azerbaijan (USD 156.5 million)," - the Agency reported.
