As of January 9, 17.8 thousand tons of hazelnuts were exported from Georgia

“From August 1, 2021 to January 9, 2022, 17.8 thousand tons of hazelnuts were exported from Georgia, the value of which amounted to 81.1 million US dollars,” – the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia reports. Reportedly, compared to the same period last year, the volume of the exported hazelnuts increased by 3.8 thousand tons (28%), while the value increased by 7.7 million USD (10%).

"Georgian hazelnuts are mainly exported to the EU markets - Italy (7,424 tons), Germany (3,347 tons), Spain (478 tons), the Czech Republic (445 tons), Poland (357 tons), Lithuania (327 tons), France (314 Tons), Bulgaria (144 tons), Greece (71 tons), Latvia (70 tons), Estonia (60 tons), Belgium (41 tons), Hungary (22 tons), Croatia (20 tons).

Georgian hazelnuts are exported to: Armenia (1,243 tons), China (785 tons), Russia (400 tons), Ukraine (302 tons), Algeria (241 tons), Saudi Arabia (276 tons), Belarus (251 tons), Iraq ( 168 tons), Switzerland (151 tons), Mexico (120 tons), Canada (120 tons), Argentina (105 tons), Azerbaijan (82 tons), the United Arab Emirates (75 tons), Kazakhstan (45 tons), Turkey ( 72 tons), Uzbekistan (44 tons), Tunisia (27 tons), the United Kingdom (22 tons), Kyrgyzstan (22 tons), Jordan (14 tons),” - the statement reads.
