"Within the period from August 1 to January 23, a total of 18.4 thousand tons of hazelnuts worth $ 84.5 million were exported from Georgia," - the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture reported.

"Compared to the same period of last year, the volume of exported hazelnuts increased by 4,0 thousand tons (28%), and the value - by $ 8.3 million (11%).

Georgian hazelnuts are mainly exported to the EU markets, namely Italy (7,621 tonnes), Germany (3,533 tonnes), Spain (522 tons), the Czech Republic (467 tonnes), Poland (379 tons), Lithuania (327 tonnes), France (339 tonnes), Bulgaria (144 tonnes), Latvia (70 tonnes), Greece (71 tonnes), Belgium (41 tonnes), Estonia (60 tonnes), Hungary (22 tonnes), Croatia (20 tonnes).

Georgian hazelnuts are exported to Armenia (1, 290 tons), China (785 tons), Ukraine (302 tons), Russia (400 tons), Algeria (241 tons), Saudi Arabia (301 tons), Belarus (251 tons), Iraq ( 168 tons), Switzerland (173 tons), Mexico (120 tons), Canada (120 tons), Azerbaijan (82 tons), Argentina (105 tons), the United Arab Emirates (75 tons), Kazakhstan (45 tons), Turkey (92), Uzbekistan (44 tons), the United Kingdom (22 tons), Kyrgyzstan (22 tons), Tunisia (27 tons), Jordan (30 tons).
