The Art Palace of Georgia – the Museum of Cultural History is planning to purchase two famous canvases, which were being kept in Georgia until 1921, but today they are for sale on the famous site of London - www.1stdibs.com.
As it turns out, the museum plans to acquire "Moses and the First Miracle of Egypt", attributed to the work of Arcangelo di Jacopo del Sellaio (Italian School, 1441 - 1493). The inscription AVE MARIA GRATIA PLEN A DO (upper section) can be read on the decorative frame. The dimensions of the painting are: 40 x 107.5 centimeters. Price - $16,519.52. The object of purchase by the museum is also the painting Madonna and Child, School of Giovanni Bellini. The canvas was made in the 15th century (1430-1516) and its sale price on the site is $19,569.05.
The museum needs to be granted the right of simplified acquisition in order to make this purchase.
