Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan affirmed that “ensuring prosperity is our shared responsibility,” stressing Armenia’s commitment to further strengthening relations with Georgia during a joint press conference with President Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Khachaturyan highlighted the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries, rooted in centuries of friendship and mutual respect. He noted that recent high-level visits have elevated this long-standing relationship into a formal strategic alliance. The two presidents discussed key areas of cooperation, including economic, cultural, and educational initiatives.
Addressing regional matters, Khachaturyan said Armenia is preparing for major international events and welcomed Georgia’s participation. He also referred to the August 8 peace agreement and economic plans linked to Armenia’s peace framework, expressing confidence that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan—along with new regional routes—will help transform the South Caucasus into a major logistics hub connecting the Persian Gulf and Europe.
Khachaturyan concluded that Armenia and Georgia share a responsibility for regional prosperity and will continue working to deepen bilateral ties.
The Armenian President is visiting Georgia for two days, accompanied by a high-level delegation including senior officials and members of parliament.
