
In 6 months of 2023, goods worth $3 billion were exported from Georgia abroad, which is 19% more than the previous year. According to statistics, the most valuable goods were exported from Georgia to Armenia this year. In total, goods worth $440 million were exported, which is 122% more than the previous year.
Exports to Armenia such an increase is primarily related to a sharp growth of auto exports. In the first half of 2023, Armenia purchased 10,000 cars worth $185 million from Georgia, which represents an increase of 1,159%.
Ranking of goods exported from Georgia to Armenia in the first half of 2023:
1) Passenger cars - $185 million, an increase of 1.159%;
2) Minibuses/buses - $19.6 million, an increase of 3,540%;
3) Bulldozers - $14.7 million, an increase of 51%;
4) Flour and granules made from meat, fish or crustaceans - $7.3 million, an increase of 5%;
5) Trucks - $6.4 million, an increase of 145%.
As for imports from Armenia, this year Georgia has received the largest volume of copper ores and concentrates from the neighboring country, which amounted to $119 million. Precious metal ores ranked 2nd with $34 million, and tobacco products – 3rd with $17 million.
