"A Georgian platoon has returned from its six-month service within the European Union Training mission in the Central African Republic," - the Ministry of Defense of Georgia said on Wednesday.
Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze and Colonel Roman Jokhadze, the Commander of the Georgian National Guard, welcomed the servicemembers on their arrival at the Tbilisi International Airport last night.
The platoon of the National Guard of Georgia has already departed for their ninth rotation in an ongoing European Union training mission in the Central Africa.
The first Georgian contribution to the mission in the Central African Republic took place starting in 2014, when service members from Georgia joined the EU operations in the state.
