"We all remember that in 2022 the country faced a big challenge in terms of inflation. Prices were unstable and very fluctuating. In this regard, the country managed to control inflation as a result of correct macroeconomic policy, strict fiscal and monetary policy. We can say that already in November in November 2023, inflation amounting to a 0.1% rate is no longer a challenge in the country. In particular, the pressure on food products, which is the most important for the population, was removed," - the Minister said. 

He also spoke about the important infrastructure projects announced by the Prime Minister in 2023.

"One cannot fail to mention the strategic flagship projects that the Ministry started at the initiative of the Prime Minister in 2023. This is a significant infrastructural improvement in the country, which is related to the construction of the new international airport of Tbilisi and also the development of the Anaklia Port. Within the framework of the project, which was suspended from February 2023, the selection process began in accordance with the legislation of private and public cooperation in Georgia. The first stage of selecting a private partner in Anaklia was successfully completed in the summer of this year. We worked together with foreign consulting companies. The leading international consulting companies are involved in the process to prepare the stage of receiving specific proposals, and the Interagency State Commission has already approved the terms for receiving proposals, which were sent to the two consortia that passed the final stage.

We have also done a great job in terms of development of the Tbilisi International Airport. Important studies are planned for 2023 and some have already been completed. This will allow us to select the main design companies that will help us in the construction of the new airport in the first few months of 2024," - Davitashvili said.
