
Aleksandre Kartozia has been appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Republic of Germany, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Kartozia brings a diverse background in public service, academia, and cultural diplomacy. He previously served as Georgia’s Minister of Education and as Director of the National Library of the Georgian Parliament.
In addition to his governmental roles, Kartozia has an extensive academic career, having worked as a researcher and lecturer at universities in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Bremen. As a scholar and translator, he has made notable contributions to deepening Georgian-German cultural ties.
In recognition of his efforts, Kartozia was awarded the Merit Order of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2022. His appointment reflects Georgia’s commitment to further strengthening its bilateral relations with Germany.
