“Georgia’s first collectible euro banknote was officially launched in Maastricht, the birthplace of the Euro,” – the Georgian Calligraphers Association reported.
According to the statement, "this limited-edition release, consisting of just 5,000 pieces, was produced with the consent of the European Central Bank, developed and financed by TRESURIUM.”
The group of the world's leading designers and specialists have worked for six months on the creation of the aforementioned collectible banknote.
The collectible banknote is rich in symbolic elements, which are Georgian. It embodies a centuries-old, rich cultural and historical heritage - David Gareji Monastery, Alaverdi Monastery, the historical 11th-century cellar of which was restored by the Badagoni wine company, and the symbol of the Georgian winemaking - pitcher and Georgian calligraphy. It is this important historical past that the first Georgian collectible banknote presents Euro 8000.
To celebrate this milestone, TRESURIUM organized a Georgian wine tasting and presentation at the historic location. In addition, TREASURIUM officially unveiled Georgia’s collectible Euro banknote in this prestigious event in presence of Georgian and Dutch delegations.
The banknote depicts the qvevris and also has the inscriptions Shen Khar Venakhi and Georgia - Motherland of Wine.
