An agreement was signed between the Tbilisi City Hall and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in order to install a gas collection system at the Didi Lilo landfill.

Appropriate infrastructure will be arranged at the landfill, through which methane released as a result of waste disposal will not be dispersed into the air, it will be transformed into electricity and respectively utilized. 

The cost of setting up the gas collection system is 20 million euros. Infrastructural works are planned to start next year.
