“We can also help Georgia, first of all, as rapidly as possible with the membership of Moldova, Montenegro, the Western Balkans and Ukraine because that will be a convincing argument that enlargement is really happening,” said Andrius Kubilius, European Commissioner for Defence and Space at the panel discussion of the EU Enlargement Forum.

Andrius Kubilius was asked about how the EU could help Georgia.

“For quite a long period of time, some oligarchs or whatever we can call them, they were sending messages: ‘Forget about enlargement because it is not happening at all,’ to Georgia and other countries as well. Now we can bring a very clear argument and evidence that enlargement will happen and Georgia can come back to this enlargement if changes in Georgia will happen,” he said.
