
The Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, participated in the official meeting as part of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, the purpose of which is to discuss the ideas for fintech cooperation between the CAREC countries.
The Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili opened the event with a welcome speech. The official meeting, which will last for two days, was also attended by the representatives of the countries of the Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Program, the heads of the Asian Development Bank and other representatives of the financial and banking sector.
As Natia Turnava stated, holding the mentioned event in Georgia is a clear confirmation of the close partnership between Georgia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and demonstrates the importance of fintech for regional cooperation.
"Cooperation between fintech regulators and stakeholders and enhanced integration of financial systems can significantly contribute to the interconnection of the regional payment and settlement systems, which will further greatly support trade and global financial integrity," - the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia said.
According to Natia Turnava, in recent years, the National Bank of Georgia has taken significant steps and has become a leading institution in the region with advanced technologies and a strong financial system.
