,,Natia Turnava, the Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, took part in the meeting of women leaders of the financial and technological industry within the framework of the world's largest Singapore Fintech Festival,“ – the press service of the National Bank of Georgia reports.
The meeting was dedicated to the issues of the gender community, the involvement of women in society and economic activities and increasing their role.
Natia Turnava informed the participants of the meeting about the steps taken by the National Bank to empower women, including raising the level of financial education of women.
Natia Turnava also spoke about the changes made by the National Bank to the Corporate Governance Code, according to which, from June 2023, the gender quota in the supervisory boards of banks was set at 33%, and from 2025, this figure will be at least 40%. She also emphasized that four of the six members of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank are women.
The National Bank of Georgia has participated in the Singapore Fintech Festival for the first time this year at its own exhibition space, where the Bank of Georgia and the Georgian fintech startup were presented together with the NBG as a co-participant.
Georgia was presented at the festival with the main message - Financial technologies and the development impulse of the Middle Corridor.
The Singapore FinTech Festival is held annually and is the world's largest fintech exhibition arranged at Singapore EXPO, the country's largest conference and exhibition space. 140 countries of the world, more than 60 thousand participants and more than 10,000 organizations have taken part in the festival this year.
