Acting President of the National Bank of Georgia, Natia Turnava, together with the heads of relevant departments of the Bank, met with representatives of microfinance organizations.
"Achievements and challenges in the sector were highlighted at today's meeting, which was also attended by the Association of Microfinance Organizations. The activities of the microfinance sector in the past period were also evaluated and prospects for further cooperation were outlined.
The meeting was held in a question and answer format. The main discussion topics were related to the further refinement of the regulatory framework and access to funds. It was noted that the development of the microfinance sector would significantly improve the competitiveness of the financial sector in general. At the meeting, the willingness to cooperate in the direction of increasing access to funds was expressed, which will contribute to the creation of additional jobs in the country.
