The General Director of Georgian Airports, Irakli Karkashadze, hosted the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia, Ahmed Alnuaimi, at Kutaisi International Airport. Karkashadze gave the Ambassador a tour of the David Agmashenebeli Airport terminal and air traffic control tower, providing a detailed overview of the airport’s operations.
The two officials discussed the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi-Abu Dhabi route, which will see increased frequencies starting in November. The Ambassador expressed satisfaction that Kutaisi International Airport has a direct air link to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, noting that the Abu Dhabi route ranks first in terms of passenger traffic.
“I’m pleased to visit Kutaisi International Airport today, which is a very beautiful and modern facility. We’re delighted that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, which currently operates daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kutaisi, will soon nearly double its services. This is excellent news, and on certain days, the airline will operate two flights per day,” said Ahmed Alnuaimi.
Currently, direct regular flights on the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi route operate daily. During the winter season, flights from Kutaisi to Abu Dhabi will increase to 10 frequencies per week.
According to data for the first nine months of 2024, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has transported over 115,000 passengers on the Abu Dhabi-Kutaisi-Abu Dhabi route.
