,,Georgia has been an exemplary partner to the USA, both in this region and globally. We’ve stood by them in every conflict where we could participate, whether in Iraq or Afghanistan, surpassing nearly every NATO member and ranking as the fourth largest contributor in terms of contingent size," said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.
Papuashvili emphasized that the current tensions between Georgia and the USA are not Georgia’s fault.
"We supported them with all the capabilities we had, and in return, we saw some political groups—both in the USA and various EU capitals—demanding escalation and reckless behavior, which could lead to another war," he stated.
He added, "What went wrong in this relationship was not our fault. The real test is seeing how the defeat of the 'Deep State' will influence the restoration of relations with Georgia. The clearer this restoration becomes, the more Georgian society will see a true partnership. It will be evident that the new administration has managed to overcome these informal networks."
Papuashvili also highlighted the challenges posed by harmful interests toward Georgia. "There will always be challenges, but we must weaken these informal networks and influential oligarchic groups to ensure they no longer have a significant impact on our country’s development or our relations with partners," he concluded.
