The import of sunflower oil into Georgia increased by 5.9%. Oil worth $23.3 million entered the country in January-July last year, and $24.6 million - in the same period this year.

During the reporting period, the import price of 1 liter of sunflower oil was reduced. Last year, if the average price of one liter was $1.14, this year the price was equal to one US dollar.

Georgia received the sunflower oil mostly from Russia. In seven months of this year, Russia's share in oil imports was 89%. More specifically, the top 5 oil importing countries in the reporting period are as follows:

Russia - 21,332 tons worth $20.8 million;
Ukraine - 2,306 tons worth $2.9 million;
Azerbaijan - 624 tons worth $807 thousand;
Hungary - 59 tons worth $109 thousand;
Turkey - 29 tons worth $42 thousand.
