The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said energy projects with a total capacity of 800 MW would be implemented in the country to utilise renewable energy resources.
PM noted the Government had already established specific average median prices in each category to determine which energy projects can be implemented.
"This approach gives the Government an opportunity to identify more renewable energy and utilize more total installed capacity to offer sector projects at a fixed rate determined through auctions in a competitive environment. This approach will be very beneficial for the energy sector and promote the competitiveness of implemented projects”, - Kobakhidze said.
Irakli Kobakhidze added the Ministry of Economy had already started developing a normative base for the purpose.
