"Georgian wines made in qvevri clay vessels used for traditional wine storage in the country were presented at the Artisan Wine Fair in New York," - the National Wine Agency of Georgia said.

At the event, visitors were introduced to wine from eight Georgian wine companies, allowing them to “immerse themselves in the country's history, ancient production traditions, and wine culture”.

Traditionally, there was great interest in Georgian wine from both wine professionals and consumers. With the aim of exploring potential import partnerships and boosting exports, this presentation is particularly important, given the US’s status as one of the key strategic markets for Georgian wine.

The body added over one million litres of Georgian wine had been exported to the US between January and October, a 58 percent increase compared to the same period of last year.
