
In 2021, a total of 19,709 tons (valued at 54.733 million US dollars) of chocolate was imported to Georgia, out of which 64.7% came from Russia and Ukraine. According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia-Geostat, 10,935 tons (valued at $ 25.745 million) of products from Russia and 4,075 tons (valued at $ 11.183 million) from Ukraine was imported to the country.
As for other countries, the list of importing countries is as follows:
- Turkey - 1,539 tons ($ 5.214 million);
- Belgium - 762 tons ($ 3,063 million);
- Italy - 738.2 tons ($ 2.337 million);
- Azerbaijan - 439 tons ($ 1.049 million);
- Germany - 433.2 tons ($ 1.530 million).
In addition, chocolate was imported to Georgia from the following countries: Armenia, Poland, the Netherlands, Turkmenistan, Belarus, France, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria and others.
It should be noted that in the first two months of this year (January-February), 2,605 tons (valued at $ 8.435 million) of chocolate was delivered to Georgia, out of which, 1,295 tons (valued at $ 3.595 million) came from Russia and 590.1 tons (valued at $ 1.940 million) from Ukraine.
