In March 2023, the volume of remittance flows into the country amounted to 438.4 million US dollars, which is 127.1% ($193.1 million) more than the similar indicator of March 2022.
According to the report published by the National Bank of Georgia, in February, the largest remittance of $223.6 million (with an increase of 727% compared to the same period of the previous year) was transferred to Georgia from the Russian Federation.
Top-10 countries from where Georgia received the most remittances in February are as follows:
The Russian Federation - $223.6 million / annual growth of 727%;
Italy - $43.4 million/growth of 9.9%;
The USA - $35.9 million/increase of 40.4%;
Greece - $19.6 million/increase of 3.3%;
Israel - $18.8 million/increase of 10.5%;
Germany - $17.6 million/increase of 55.2%;
Kazakhstan - $17.4 million/increase of 130.9%;
Turkey - $10.2 million/increase of 22.1%;
Kyrgyzstan - $5.7 million/increase of 165%;
Spain - $4.9 million/increase of 5.1%.
In addition, in March 2023, 30.4 million US dollars were sent abroad from Georgia, which is 26.7% more than the similar indicator (24 million US dollars) of March 2022.
