„I would like to congratulate my country on this great victory and recognition - Georgia has achieved another success by becoming the host country of the World Tourism Day in 2024, and ultimately, we will see a more strengthened tourism industry, as well as the aviation industry and, accordingly, a stronger economy of our country,” - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Mariam Kvrivishvili said, who participated in the 68th session of the European Commission of the United Nations World Tourism Organization held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
38 member countries of the commission unanimously supported the initiative of the Georgian side to hold the World Tourism Day in Georgia in 2024.
The World Tourism Day has been held every year for more than 30 years on different continents. This is a very large-scale event, which representative delegations from countries of the world participate in. According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, the commission's decision emphasizes the important role of Georgia in the world tourism industry, its awareness and potential.
