“The 108th international wine and food exhibition 108th China Food & Drinks Fair was held in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, 34 Georgian wine producing companies participated in the exhibition. After the pandemic, this was the first large-scale presentation of Georgian wine in the country, which is one of the strategic markets for Georgia,” - the National Wine Agency reports.
Reportedly, China is among the top five exporting countries of Georgian wine.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Chairman of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the People's Republic of China, Archil Kalandia.
During his visit to China, Levan Mekhuzla met with representatives of local authorities, commercial companies and Georgian Wine Houses. At the meetings, the parties discussed the potential of increasing the export of Georgian wine and the issues of marketing activities.
The exhibition China Food & Drinks Fair has been held in China since 1955 and is considered one of the most important exhibitions in China, which is attended by thousands of wine producers and up to a million visitors from different countries of the world every year. This is the best opportunity for the Georgian wine to become more recognizable and popular in the Southeast Asian market. Within the framework of the exhibition, representatives of Georgian wine companies held meetings with partners and potential importers.
