
According to the Georgian Union of Petroleum Product Importers, during the months of January-August 2023, the import of lubricants amounted to 15.61 thousand tons, which is 1.55 thousand tons or 11% more compared to the figure (14.06 thousand tons) of the same period of the previous year.
During 8 months of 2023, the largest volume of lubricants was imported to Georgia from Turkey - 3.35 thousand tons, which is 21.5% of all imports. Turkey is followed by Iran - 2.98 thousand tons (19.1%); Germany - 1.80 thousand tons (11.5%), Azerbaijan - 1.09 tons (7%); and others.
During the months of January-August 2023, the import of aviation oil amounted to 81.8 thousand tons, which is 1.9 thousand tons or 2.3% less compared to the indicator (83.7 thousand tons) of the same period of 2022.
During 8 months of the current year, 40.7% (33.3 thousand tons) of aviation oil was imported to Georgia from Turkmenistan, 28.2% (23.1 thousand tons) - from Azerbaijan; 14.7% (12 thousand tons) - from Greece, 8.3% (6.8 thousand tons) - from Malta; 8.2% (6.7 thousand tons) - from Turkey.
